I have always wanted to be a good cook--you know, the kind of cook who makes a dinner that everyone is still raving about a week later? I think I can pinpoint this whole thing to July 2007, when the movie No Reservations came out. In 2009 Julie and Julia made it worse, and now I own way too many cookbooks, subscribe to way too many cooking blogs, and I'm one of those people who starts thinking about what to make for dinner three days in advance.
But here's the catch, I grew up helping my Mom cook for a family of ten. My mind automatically doubles a recipe... cutting it in half usually doesn't occur to me until the food is all cooked and I realize how long it will take to eat all of it. Luckily Matt likes leftovers!
Exhibit A:
Wayyy too many bran muffins.
Luckily they are supposed to last in the fridge for up to 6 weeks...
We are 90% sure that we like them.
At least they make us feel sort of healthy.

hahaha, send some of those our way! Oh wait, your siblings won't eat muffins unless they have chocolate chips in them :/
